As many of you know, this year I was nominated for the Rising Star of the Year Award at the Wedding Blog Awards – this was a massive honour and super exciting! The build up to the day was pretty huge and on Slimming World saw me lose 9lb so I would feel fabulous! On the day I was really nervous but also super busy as I had agreed to donate the photo booth for the event too so preparations started early to get the programming done and ready and get the booth to the beautiful Andaz Liverpool Street, the venue for the evening. We got all set up and then the nerves really kicked in – I felt a little silly for being nervous as it was a complete surprise to have been nominated but it was the first time I had ever been to an awards night! The venue Andaz London was stunning, it made the whole event feel that little bit more special and Wedding Magazine did a wonderful job of arranging a fab night!
I wore a beautiful Hobbs dress (lent to me by one of my friends – thanks Chelsey!) which was really on trend with weddings as it was covered in ruffles in a lovely red which reminds me of roses. I also wore my black and silver heels from the Mary Portas with Clark’s Shoes range and a new silver sparkly choker. There were some amazing outfits at the event and it had a wonderful glamorous feel. Everyone there was absolutely lovely, I had met Jess (Bespoke Bride) at an event a few months ago and it was great to catch up with her again, she introduced me to lots of the other bloggers too and it was one big happy family which I am so proud to now feel a part of!
Gethin Jones hosted the awards and had everyone laughing throughout – needless to say everyone was over the moon to be receiving an award from him and the queue at the end to say hi and get a selfie was huge! The winner in my category was Devine Bride and although I would have loved to have one, I can honestly say I couldn’t have missed out to anyone more lovely! After the awards were given out we had a great party with a fabulous live band, the room was beautifully decorated with gorgeous flowers and the champagne flowed, my photo booth (Photo Buzz Photo Booths) was really popular and I was so proud to hear many of the bloggers say it was the best they had ever used with amazing space and props!
I was so please for all of the winners in every category and hope next year to join them with a trophy of my own.
