The Dreaded Question Every Bride To Be Seems to be Asked

Do you have a theme for your wedding?

Brides often look horrified by the question “Are you having a theme for your wedding?” and it seems to be asked a lot especially at wedding events. If you’ve been asked and never know what to reply, I’m here to help!

I think part of the worry when couples get asked this is that they feel like if they say no their wedding may seem boring but if they say yes it could be seen as tacky – so whats the right answer?!

First of all, don’t let anyone put you off your dream wedding – its all about you as a couple! People asking this question will simply want a bit of a picture of how your wedding will look on the day. So instead of discussing themes you can talk about colour choices or anything that is influencing your day whether it’s the lace on your wedding dress or your favourite colours, don’t think about a theme but instead as something which has inspired your day. Don’t think that if it is a colour which you are using that this is boring, colour can make a wedding pop! so be proud of what ever you have chosen and run with it!

Here is a collection of photos I have taken at weddings where there has been no “theme” but the day has been centred around colours or flowers etc, I hope they inspire you!

This wedding was centred around a gorgeous array or roses in every colour!

Wedding flowers with foliage

These gorgeous flowers decorated the whole wedding with gorgeous foliage and flashes of colour which matched the bridesmaids dresses.

If you have a strong theme then go for it and be proud to tell everyone why the theme is so important to you. I have been a part of some amazing themed weddings including an Ibiza wedding which was awesome, they had a rave instead of a first dance! I have also been to a halloween themed wedding which again I loved – there were lots of children at the wedding and they loved it! There was also rustic themed weddings in beautiful barns and modern weddings in some of London’s top venues and guess what? I loved every one of them!
