Charlotte and Graham are a wonderful couple full of colour and a love of life and travelling so it was no surprise when they decided to have an Ibiza themed wedding “We love Ibiza but wanted all of our friends and family to be there, so we decided to get married in the UK but with Ibiza vibes!” and what a day it was!
Charlottes bridal gown was a beautiful princess a-line dress with lots of gorgeous sparkles – I loved all the clear sequins which added that touch of glitter! Her shoes were fab too! She chose stunning red Irregular Choice heals, with a patterned underside to add to the details. The outfit was finished with her stunning bridal bouquet.
The bridesmaids dresses also added to the Ibiza theme with all the colours from the wedding and a fun flowery print – I also love that these are the kind of dresses the bridesmaids could wear again if they were off somewhere nice or even to another wedding! They had such fun getting ready in the morning and the bridesmaids were blown away by their gifts which were all beautifully packaged in personalised bags which had each been hand painted with pictures of them in their dresses with their names on – I thought this was amazing, what a lovely way to say thank you to your bridesmaids – but it didn’t stop there – inside each bag there were Pandora charms and photos with each of the girls with Charlotte in Ibiza frames and other thoughtful little bits!
The whole day was held at the The Barns Hotel Bedford and the ceremony was emotional – there were lots of tissues needed! I just love this moment between the bride and groom during a reading. After the ceremony the Ibiza vibe went up a gear with summery cocktails during the drinks reception, not to mention a beach ball or two! There was also the beautiful singing from Gemma Samuels the fantastic wedding singer who get everyone in the party mood!
The bride and groom had some fun whilst taking their photos with brilliant wedding photographer Lyndsey Challis, as well as playing with beach balls Charlotte got the party started early, dancing by the lake and they took a few minutes for a peaceful stroll before their evening reception began.
Chrlotte and Graham had a “big reveal” before the wedding breakfast and the guests were blown away by the details of their unique Ibiza theme! The tables and chairs were simple with Chiavari chairs and white linen with hessian table runners, this simplicity was the perfect backdrop to the colour and vibrancy of the theme. The table centres were beautifully personal and right on the theme, they were named after the couples favourite Ibiza clubs with flyers and photos of the couples visits to each place. These were presented on the tree slices which fitted beautifully with the hessian backdrop.
All the details of this wedding were beautiful yet fun and very personal, their top table was named after club Ushuaia and the table plan was again simple with the added touch of fairy lights. The room also had pin boards with memories of past holidays including wrist bans and flyers adding to the decoration – the bride loved her Ushuaia fan during the speeches!
As I had my photo booth at Charlotte & Grahams wedding I was privileged to have some insight into what to expect during the evening but I love that the guests were in the dark, we had been asked during the first dance to hand out glow sticks to the guests and be ready to rave! Part way through the song the music changed, the lights went down and the couple had their perfect first dance, a rave with all their friends and family! It certainly was a first dance to remember!
Even the wedding cake held a surprise, as guests gathered and the couple got ready to cut the cake it came a light with gorgeous fairy lights hidden under the hessian! There were plenty of oo’s and ahh’s from all the guests and Charlotte’s face lit up too!
To really kick off the celebrations there was a Ibiza style shot bar with Ibiza spelt in candles and bright coloured shot glasses which guests could help themselves to!
The photo booth photos were designed around the night club from the top table and there were neon props, sunglasses and glow sticks to add to the theme. The final surprise of the evening was a fire artist! She performed amazing stunts for about half an hour including fire eating which guests of all ages (and myself) loved!
The whole wedding was amazing fun with surprise after surprise! The guests (and me!) will be talking about this wedding for a long time to come and I want to wish the happy couple Charlotte & Graham all the love and happiness in the world! Here is the last stunning picture of this lovely couple with a background as dramatic as their big day!
Huge thanks to the wonderful Lyndsey Challis, an amazing wedding photographer for the use of her stunning photos and for making this amazing wedding even more fun for me!
