Last weekend I went to Wedfest In The Barn the wedding of Mr & Mrs Spencer at the beautiful Tewin Bury Farm wedding venue in Hertfordshire, it really was lovely and we had so much fun! There were so many details in the wedding which made me ooo and awww that I had to share them with you! All the photos in this post were snapped by me on the night, I hope they give you lots of inspiration too!
As a huge fan of colour this wedding excited me with a fabulous multi-colour festival theme with beautiful flowers! It was wonderful to see seasonal flowers including bright sunflowers which contrasted perfectly with purple flowers (I’m not sure what flowers they are?!) set off with other colours including pink roses, orange gerbera’s and white daisies (amazed myself there being able to name the rest!) this beautiful array of colour was set of by the current must have of green foliage.
The theme ran through all the wedding decorations and these flowers were in the centre of each table along side pastel multi coloured chair sashes to bring the barn alive!
The table plan was based around the important dates in the couples relationship and a chalk board guided guests through these moments, I loved the way the table plan looks as though it has been planted with flowers around it and all arranged in a printed wooden crate.
To emphasise the brides very musical side there was a fabulous live band who did a few brilliant songs (some very quirky), my favourite was a rendition of The Jungle Book’s The Bare Necessities which got everyone on their feet laughing and enjoying the entertainment, it created amazing vibes! After the band the DJ took the night away with a great mix of songs (not just another complication of the same mix you often hear at weddings as the DJ desperately tries to please everyone with an eclectic mix of young and old and nearly always “is this the way to Amarillo”) and we danced the night away!
My photo booth was a massive hit on the night with all the guests taking amazing pictures! The background was specially designed to match the Wedfest theme and incorporated the graphics used for the invitations as well as on the table plans. Everyone went wild with the props including the bride and groom …
One thing really touched me, brought a tear to my eye and sparked my imagination and I will definitely be taking with me into my future wedding ideas. The groom’s dad had sadly passed away and was obviously very missed on the big day and this area of dedication in the wedding really made me feel like they were keeping his memory alive throughout the day for everyone to celebrate and enjoy.
Lastly I loved the wedding cake; a naked cake although fashionable is not always my first choice of cake as it can sometime look a little messy to me. This naked cake however was just beautiful! I loved the details added to it and thought it was a real show stopper and fabulous centre piece for wedding pictures.
Huge congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Spencer and thank you so much for letting me and Photo Buzz be a part of your fabulous day!
